I’d like to share with you, the dialogue that led to the choice of Megan’s Crossing as the name for our organization. In the dynamics of that Saturday morning workshop last fall (the first meeting for the newly formed Board of Directors), the notion of an “intersection” evolved; that we wanted to create a place to which, and from which our residents may come and go in safety and with dignity and guidance, while achieving in their lives, all of which they are capable.

Of course, the term “Megan’s Intersection” sounded clumsy and confusing. “Crossing” added a poetic theme. The name Megan’s Crossing was then selected, and depicts the need to establish a dynamic and supportive residential facility with care and employment opportunities on site and in the community. The word “crossing” makes clear these concepts, as “Megan’s House” becomes a place where she and her friends would be coming and going….a busy place to live, work and play. Together, we all will build a creative and sustainable environment.
